Our Meetings are held each Tuesday 6:30pm - 8;30pm
At our meetings we aim to have fun, enjoy a good meal and listen to an interesting speaker.
A typical meeting is as follows:
6:30pm Arrive and catch up with other members
7.00pm Our president will ask us to charge our glasses and a toast is made "To the Queen, and the people of Australia", our president welcomes our guests and any visiting Rotarians.
7:15pm Dinner is served, each week we are served a two course meal. During dinner our club folder is passed around where you indicate what meetings you are able to attend, and also volunteer for events the rotary will be attending ie: Bunnings BBQ, fundraising events such as a Trivia night or Golf Day.
7.45pm Our President will make any announcements regarding the club also any notices from other members are heard, and we normally have a raffle.
8.00pm Our guest speaker presents a short presentation.
8:25pm Our Sergeant at Arms holds a fine session, now for non-rotarians this will seem very strange. The sergeant dishes out fun fines to the club members eg. "If you are wearing red" "Table two was laughing too much" members pop their loose change into the fine box.
8.30pm Pack up and finish.
Sergeant at Arms
This role was introduced in 1921 to keep order in the meetings so the president could get through the meeting uninterrupted, it has now evolved to a light hearted fine session. The Sergeant also rings the bell to call the meeting to order, at the beginning of the meeting.
